VaxPup is a simple app designed to help you track your dog’s vaccine records and medication schedules. This privacy policy explains how VaxPup handles your data. The short version: we don’t collect data about you, and we don’t store your dog’s information on our servers. Everything stays on your device—or in your own iCloud account if you choose to sync it there.
VaxPup does not:
All information you enter into VaxPup—including dog profiles, vaccine records, medications, photos, and veterinarian contacts—is stored locally on your device only. The developer cannot access, read, or receive this data.
If you are signed into iCloud on your device, VaxPup can optionally sync your data through Apple’s CloudKit service to your private iCloud database. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest, is tied to your Apple ID, and is subject to Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy. If you enable Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, it is end-to-end encrypted. The app developer has no access to your iCloud data in any case.
When you use VaxPup to scan vaccine records or medical documents, the app uses Apple’s on-device optical character recognition (OCR) and Apple Intelligence models to extract text. This scanning happens entirely on your device—scanned images and extracted text never leave your phone or iPad. On devices without Apple Intelligence, the scanning feature is unavailable.
VaxPup uses local notifications to remind you about upcoming vaccines and medication schedules. These reminders are created and managed on your device only. We do not send push notifications from external servers.
VaxPup collects app logs and uses Apple MetricKit to monitor crashes and performance—but only on your device. These diagnostics are never automatically sent to us. If you encounter a problem and want to help us improve the app, you can manually export your diagnostics from VaxPup’s Settings by tapping “Export Diagnostics” and sending the file to us yourself (for example, by email). Logs automatically redact your pet’s names and detailed record information to protect your privacy.
VaxPup is a general-audience app not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information without parental consent, please contact us; however, because we do not collect data, this is unlikely.
On Your Device: Deleting the VaxPup app removes all locally stored data.
In iCloud: Deleting the app does not automatically remove synced data from iCloud. To remove synced VaxPup data from your iCloud account:
Your Rights: Because we do not collect, store, or process any personal data, data-subject requests (such as access, correction, or portability) should be directed to Apple regarding iCloud data. You control your data directly through your device settings.
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
